About
A Hampton Roads web company, built like critical systems
Direct access to the person building your site, a written plan before any work starts, and a site you own outright.
Why "757"
757 is home: the area code that ties Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Suffolk together. 757 Web Works builds websites for the businesses, consultants, coaches and community programs that make this region run, and for clients anywhere who want the same care.
How we work
Every site starts with a short written plan: the pages, the features, the timeline and the price. You review a private preview, mark up anything you'd change, and answer our questions in one place. Before launch, automated checks cover links, forms, speed, accessibility and security headers. You own your domain and accounts from day one, and you get plain-English instructions you can keep.
Our mark
Our mark is the area code itself: 757 on harbor navy, over a brass rule for the shipyards and the Navy that shaped this region, with WW for Web Works beneath. It says where we're from and who we build for first, the businesses and programs of Hampton Roads.
Founder
Steven Machamer
Steven is a licensed Professional Engineer with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University. Since 2017 he has worked on systems that can't afford to fail: plant computers and control systems at Dominion Energy and Duke Energy nuclear stations, facility and power upgrades at NASA Langley Research Center, and generators, substations and lighting for Navy facilities in Hampton Roads.
Web development grew out of that work. Steven built his engineering firm's website to the standard of any engineered system, then rebuilt a bitcoin educator's site off Squarespace and built a youth sports program's site from the ground up. 757 Web Works is where that work continues.
Off the clock, Steven played NCAA Division III baseball at Emory & Henry, still plays in the Hampton Roads Adult Baseball Association, and coaches young players.
757 Web Works offers website design and development only. It offers no engineering services, and it is separate from Machamer Electric, PLLC and the engineering services that firm provides.
